In the new box that pops up, you want to make sure that it saves IN the “DESKTOP”. Then click on the Save button.
This will begin the download process of the program "Adaware". When it is finished you will have a new desktop icon called AAWPersonalSE.
Close your web browser. You should be viewing your desktop.
Double-click on AAWPersonalSE. This will launch the Adaware installer. Just keep hitting NEXT until you get to FINISH. Then click on Finish.
You will now have a new icon on your desktop called "Adaware Personal SE". Double click on the new icon to start Adaware.
In the bottom right hand corner of the new box you will see the start button. Just above that it has underlined “CHECK FOR UPDATES NOW”. Click on that.
In the box that comes up click on “CONNECT”. A box will then come up that tells you if there is an update to be installed. Either way, you will click “OK”. When the update is installed, please click on finish.
Now, you should be back to the beginning of Adaware and will see the “START” button again.
- Click on “START”. Start will disappear and in its place you will see NEXT.
- Click on “NEXT”. That will disappear and then you will see ABORT. Do no click on Abort. That will stop the program.
- When the program is finished searching for spyware objects it will have a flashing red light in the “NEW OBJECTS” box. The abort button will disappear and “NEXT” will take its place.
- Click on “NEXT” and a new box will come up showing all of the objects found with a little check box out to the left side of the screen. If all of the boxes are not checked, then you will need to check them.
There is an easy way to check all boxes. You can RIGHT Click on the 1st check box and then (in the new menu) click on “Select All Objects”. Then click on “NEXT” at the bottom to remove all objects. When you come back to see the “START” button again, you know the program is finished and you can now close the program by clicking the X in the upper right hand corner.
