Using SMTP Authentication with Apple's Mail Application

  1. Open the Mail application.
  2. Open the Preferences by clicking “Mail” in the menu bar, then clicking on the “Preferences” item in the drop down menu.
  3. Switch to the “Accounts” settings.
  4. Highlight the account you wish to change and click the “Edit” button.
  5. Click the “Account Information” tab.
  6. Click on the “Server Settings” button.
  7. Change the “Server Port” number to "587".

  8. Set the “Choose Authentication:” or “Authentication” option to “Password” and fill in your tcworks.net Username and Password.
